Turner filled this page with multiple studies of buildings, boats and figures in coastal terrain. A pencil note towards the top right-hand corner of the page locates these sketches to the vicinity of Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer on the Normandy coast. The artist filled several pages of the present volume with studies of this area, a list of which is included in the sketchbook introduction.
