Here Turner depicts ‘Willow’ and ‘Poplar’ trees by a stream, along with a view of buildings situated within a hilly landscape (this view is rendered with the sketchbook turned upside down). The inscription ‘[?Ratehous] – [...]’ may refer to ‘Rathaus’ or ‘town hall’ in German.
