This is a view of Rotterdam’s Oude Haven or Old Port, with shipping moored on the New Maas. The Ooster Oude Hooft-Poort, the eastern gate to the old port, is just visible behind the masts at left (see Tate D32489; Turner Bequest CCCXXI 24).
