Drawn with the page turned horizontally, the main view is emphatic but loosely rendered, and the identity of what is presumably a Venetian church dome, with a tower nearby and what appears to be a gondola in the foreground, is unconfirmed; it is possibly San Pietro in Castello, with its prominent dome and substantial campanile, seen to the west from the channel off the Isola della Certosa, at the far eastern end of the city. There is a more clearly defined view apparently showing the church from the opposite direction on folio 26 recto (D31840), under which other sketches in this book are noted.
Towards the top right is a somewhat more considered study of a fishing or cargo boat.
