Inscr. ‘Max 1907’ b.r. and ‘A quiet morning in the Tate Gallery. The Curator trying to expound to one of the Trustees the spiritual fineness of Mr William Rothenstein's “Jews Mourning in a Synagogue”’ b.c. There is a collector's (?) stamp ‘LR’ (?) in an upright oval b.l.
