This is Britain: The Home of British Art

What are your favourite two works by British artists in the Tate collection? Vivienne Westwood and Lauren Laverne know theirs. So does Jon Snow.

To help shine a light on what’s in the BP British Art Displays at Tate Britain, we have made a series of short films featuring some of our supporters who reveal their favourite two works currently on show. Presenter Lauren Laverne talks about childhood reminiscences in front of Millais’s Ophelia; fashion designer  Vivienne Westwood describes her love of London through the eyes of Frank Auerbach, while comedian Adam Buxton (of Adam and Joe fame) takes a sideways look at 18th-century portraiture. Their opinions, as well as those by musician Ghostpoet, iconic news reader  Jon Snow and art historian Gus Casely-Hayford, are both insightful and inspiring, personal and passionate, and in some cases, very funny. We’ll be releasing new mini-films every Friday over the coming months on the Context and Comment section of the new website, so please take a look at them as they are released.
