During the Olafur Eliasson: In real life exhibition, the Terrace bar will be transformed by artworks and lamps designed by Eliasson. The menu will reflect the lunch served at Studio Olafur Eliasson Kitchen in Berlin.
The teams at SOE Kitchen and Tate Eats have worked together to develop a series of vegetarian dishes made from sustainable, seasonal, mostly organic ingredients.
About Studio Olafur Eliasson kitchen
In 1995, Olafur Eliasson founded Studio Olafur Eliasson in Berlin, which today comprises more than one hundred team members, including craftsmen, architects, archivists, researchers, administrators, programmers, art historians, and specialized technicians.
The SOE Kitchen team prepares organic, vegetarian meals that are shared by the full studio team four days a week, as well as visiting guests and collaborators, using seasonal produce from an organic farm just outside of Berlin.

‘Elemental’ is a collaboration brew between Fourpure Brewing Co, Toast Ale and Tate Eats inspired by our collaboration with the SOE Kitchen. The beer highlights food waste and sustainability. It replaces an element of the grain for the malt, with three-hundred kilograms of bread that otherwise would have been wasted. The beer is a summer sour ale, brewed to complement the SOE Kitchen menu. Expect a clean, crisp character with refreshing sourness, bright cucumber flavours and a smooth finish.
Events at the Terrace bar
As an extension of the SOE Kitchen, the Terrace Bar will host a public programme developed in close dialogue with the studio, which will expand on the subjects of sustainability and community. See below for these events.
