A new performance work and structural installation

lastyearzinterestingnegroisdead aka Last Yearz Interesting Negro is the London-based artist/dancer/choreographer Jamila Johnson-Small. Last Yearz Interesting Negro makes performances that are unsettling and cinematic queer (de)compositions existing in the fragile space of the live moment.

i want to think about the impossibility of beginnings and endings with you emerges from conversations around rest, love labours, burning, burn out, boundaries, the aesthetics of ‘wellness’ and technologies for survival in hostile environments.

Art Now is a series of free exhibitions showcasing emerging talent and highlighting new developments in British art.
