The Tate Britain Commission invites a contemporary British artist to create a new work for the Duveen Galleries

One of the most ambitious programmes for the commissioning of large-scale new artworks in London. The series began in 2000, when a new sculpture by Mona Hatoum was unveiled, and has been an annual event since 2008. Featured artists have included Mark Wallinger, Martin Creed, Fiona Banner, Simon Starling, Phyllida Barlow, Pablo Bronstein, Cerith Wyn Evans and Anthea Hamilton. The artist selected for 2019 commission will be announced in autumn 2018.
