The 1840s GIF Party invites you to transform artworks from the 1840s room at Tate Britain into animated GIFs.
We’ve already commissioned five outstanding creatives to take part:

Now it’s your turn! Take part by saving a copy of your chosen original artwork, create your GIF, and send it back to us.
Original artworks to choose from include:
- John Brett, Lady With A Dove: Madame Loeser 1864
- Albert Moore, A Garden 1869
- John Singer Sargent, Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose 1885–6
- Joanna Mary Wells, Portrait of Sidney Wells 1859
- James Abbott McNeill Whilster, Harmony in Grey and Green: Miss Cecily Alexander 1872–4

Deadline for submissions: Sunday 2 February 2014.
All submissions will be screened at Late at Tate on Friday 7 February 2014 in the 1840s room, alongside the original artworks.
