Join us for an exclusive chance to celebrate the new conservation work to the Rex Whistler Restaurant’s Mural The Expedition in Pursuit of Rare Meats.
Steeped in history, the Rex Whistler Restaurant has been a regular haunt for Londoners since it’s opening in 1927 - perhaps most famously known for Whistler’s spectacular mural that spans the entirety of the restaurant.
A limited number of guests will have the opportunity to watch conservation work being carried out on the mural and attend an in-depth tour of related works in the collection. These works, much like the mural, will be themed around hunting and foraging for the refined and exotic amidst the fruits of nature.
You’ll have the chance to ask our expert conservation team any questions you might have about the project as well as the conservation history of the mural.
Champagne and canapes will be provided as you learn more about the celebrated piece.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn more about the astounding artist, designer and illustrator as well as be part of a piece of Tate’s history.
