Join poet Amina Jama, reading from her poetry collection, A Warning To The House That Holds Me

In A Warning To The House That Holds Me, Amina Jama explores her British-Somali heritage. In the collection, Amina pays homage to her home country and lineage. She explores displacement, dual nationality and Somali history. The poems respond to the work and mythology of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo.

Amina’s reading will be followed by a Q&A and book signing.

Amina Jama is an alumnus of Barbican Young Poets and a member of Octavia Poetry Collective. She also co-hosts of BoxedIN poetry night. She has completed residencies and performed internationally with Speaking Volumes. Amina has been commissioned by the BBC, The Queens Gallery, Buckingham Palace and the Mayor of London's Office.
