Join poet Shirley May as she reads from her poetry collection, She Wrote Her Own Eulogy

Shirley May’s She Wrote Her Own Eulogy discusses her family’s Jamaican heritage
and the Black-British experience. Her emotional work takes the reader on a journey
through the landscapes of Kent and Manchester, via Jamaica. She explores themes
of community, memory, hope and the future.

Shirley will read from her work, followed by audience Q & A and book signing.

She Wrote Her Own Eulogy is published by Wrecking Ball Press.

Biography


Shirley May is the director of Young Identity. Young Identity is a writing collective
which works with 13–25s. Her own work has been published in several anthologies.
She has performed at many well-known venues in the UK and abroad.
