Build, break or recreate? With TENT and Young Peoples Programme

Join an unconference challenging notions of power today with young people

Do we build, break or re-create the power structures around us? Join us as we reclaim the space first through the creation of an interactive installation which responds to the themes of the event. Explore ideas and questions around building, deconstructing and recreating power structures. Engage physically, creatively and intellectually with the installation for the duration of the week.

The official launch unconference will take place on Friday 15 November. Take part in a performance, conversation, making and music.

The launch of Where does Culture Happen? will be a reaction to and a manifestation of some of the themes raised in the publication linked to the annual theme of Power. Our focus will be on language, home, dominance and non-dominance, cultural capital, exchange and institutionalisation.

About TENT x Tate

This event is the celebration of an ongoing partnership project between TENT, contemporary art gallery in Rotterdam and Young Peoples Programme at Tate. As a response to previous collaborative projects TENT and Tate published Where does Culture Happen?, a publication inclusive of contributions from young people from Rotterdam, Tate Collective Producers and other London-based young emerging artists. The publication was launched at TENT in March 2019 and will be launching at Tate in November 2019.
