Join us as Swedish-Japanese chef Carl Ishizaki takes over our kitchens at Tate St Ives

This July, london based creative hub Carousel will be bringing their open kitchen ethos to St Ives for a one-off weekend of cooking, creativity and art with Swedish-Japanese chef Carl Ishizaki of Stockholm’s Michelin-starred Sushi Sho.

Using the finest local seafood and produce, Carl will collaborate with Tate St Ives Head Chef Fraser Bruce and the Carousel team to create a unique Cornish-inspired sushi experience.

Biographies

Half-Swedish, half-Japanese, Carl Ishizaki has earned a cult following in Stockholm for his daily-changing omakase tasting menus of beautifully crafted Japanese cooking, prepared with the freshest local ingredients and an itamae’s touch. Carl’s twelve-seater, hole-in-the-wall restaurant was awarded its first Michelin earlier in 2016 and continues to delight critics and diners alike with its laid back style and its winning mix of tsumami (‘drinking snacks’) and nigiri.

Carousel & The Templetons Opened in 2014 by entrepreneurial cousins Ollie, Ed, Will and Anna Templeton, Carousel’s award-winning creative hub is home to a carefully curated line-up of guest chef residencies, art exhibitions, workshops, experiences and events. Not to mention one of the best lunches in Marylebone. Big name chefs from all over the world, short film screenings, Chinese dumpling master classes, food photography workshops, live acoustic sessions... No two days at Carousel are ever the same. The team also partners up with a variety of brands on events of all different shapes and sizes, offering up top-notch food and drink and creative in-house production across all three buildings.
