Statement from Tate's Directors

We were deeply concerned to hear the #metoo experiences shared by those working across the arts sector in recent weeks. Tate does not tolerate harassment or abuse at any of our sites and we want to assure people of all genders working at Tate that if they have experienced abuse or harassment of any kind, they will be listened to, taken seriously and appropriate action will be taken.

We encourage everyone working in the arts to familiarise themselves with the dignity and respect at work and whistleblowing policies of their organisations. If you do not feel comfortable reporting inappropriate behavior through these routes, there is help available, including:

• trade union representatives

• the independent charity Public Concern at Work

• the Advisory Conciliation and Arbitration Service

• sector-specific organisations such as the Museums Association for museum professionals and a-n for visual artists.

We are committed to ensuring that galleries are safe, inclusive and respectful places for all staff and visitors.
