Summary

Half-Box (Green) is a sculpture which may be viewed in two states. In its ‘closed’ state, it has the appearance of a simple triangular block, the upper surface of which is an isosceles triangle. Although it appears solid, lines indicating joins on the two equal length sides suggest that it may enclose space. The side which forms the hypotenuse of the triangle is bisected by a brass metal hinge. In its ‘open’ state, the triangular top section of the box is flipped 180 degrees around the axis of the hinge to lie flat against the surface on which the box sits.
