The illustrations and a book-jacket in colour were made while the artist was serving with the Royal Marines. The book (an anthology) was published by Faber and Faber in 1943. Each illustration introduces a section of the Anthology. The titles are inscribed on the mount. They are mounted in two rows of eleven but not in the above order.
