Naum Gabo 1890-1977T02205 Cast of one Side of the Alabaster in 'Construction with Alabaster Carving' 1938-9
Inscribed 'Gabo' on front surface near centre (possibly not by the artist)
Plaster, 8 3/4 x 6 x 1 1/2 (21.5 x 15.2 x 4)
Presented by the artist 1977
See the note on T02204. This cast is of one side of the alabaster only; the back is left in a rough state. It was probably made as a preliminary stage in producing T02204, as the original, being inset in a sheet of plastic, could not be cast entire in a single operation.
