Clark was commissioned to write a text to be published alongside the work of a number of land artists but he chose, instead, to collaborate only with Ian McKeever. McKeever and Clark felt that their contributions should run in parallel, but be independent of each other rather than illustrational. McKeever's images are printed from 'shuttering plywood' which is used by builders for casting concrete. He selected sheets whose surfaces he found interesting and simply cut out the forms. He did not manipulate the surface of the ply at all. The work of both poet and artist is based on landscape.
