Isncribed by an unknown hand in pencil ‘CXLI’, stamped in black ‘CXLI’ and blind-stamped with the Turner Bequest monogram

A small coast scene with shipping in the bottom right corner belongs with six others sketched on folio 1 of the sketchbook (D10587). There are also at least two lists with arithmetic, including references to ‘expenses’ and ‘taxes’ but, as Finberg found, mostly indicipherable.
