Catalogue entry

Like this sketches on folios 75 verso, 76 recto and 77 verso (D05154–D05156; Turner Bequest LXXXII 75a, 76, 76a), this slight sketch appears to be related to the painting Fishermen upon a Lee–Shore, in Squally Weather, exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1802 (Southampton Art Gallery).1 The unclear pencil inscription may be part of the draft letter or speech noted inside the front cover (D40695).
