Catalogue entry

This summary note is drawn lengthways across the opening, with the top of the composition on folio 64 recto opposite (D01569; Turner Bequest XL 62). Turner’s itinerary touched the coast at several points between Cardiff and Aberystwyth; it is not possible to say where this sketch was made, though it may depict the estuary of the Tywi, which is shown on folios 67 verso–68 recto (D01574–D01575; Turner Bequest 65a–66).
