Catalogue entry

This is one of a sequence of life studies between folios 1 recto and 14 recto (D01816–D01826, D01828, D01829; Turner Bequest XLIII 2, 3, 3a, 4–7, 1, 8–10, 12, 13).
Verso:
Blank; not prepared with a red-brown ground, unlike the other leaves of this sketchbook. This side bears traces of having once been stuck down to the front flyleaf; it is not clear why the leaf was moved to its present position in the book.
