Catalogue entry

Finberg thought the subject to be ‘Probably the Cynfael Falls, near Ffestiniog’,1 but later doubted this.2 The present author has previously given the subject tentatively as the Ogwen Falls, but this seems unlikely.3 See also the adjacent drawings of waterfalls on the rectos of folios 8, 10 and 11 (D01363, D01365, D01366).
