Catalogue entry

This is one of three similar views of Bonnington Linn from upstream to the north; see also folios 7 verso and 8 (D26272, D26273). Of the three, this sketch brings us closest to the waterfall. The other two sketches look along the gorge from further to the north. Turner made these sketches on his way from Bonnington Linn to Corra Linn. For further sketches of the Falls of Clyde see folio 1 verso (D26260).
