This was a right-hand page from the sketchbook. For Turner’s views of Goring from the book see also Tate D05921; Turner Bequest XCV 17. The present drawing is a distant view, downstream towards St Thomas’ Church (seen more closely in D05921) framed in Goring Gap. Trees rise from the river bank and grass grows at its edge on the left.
