Catalogue entry

For Turner’s drawings of New College Chapel see under Tate D02347 (Turner Bequest L F). Just as in that drawing Turner gave prominence to James Wyatt’s organ screen, so here he assiduously notes the reredos uncovered by Wyatt and the ribbed plaster Gothic vault that Wyatt had devised for the roof structure.
Technical notes:
The drawing is within a ruled pencil border.
Verso:
Blank; not stamped.
