Catalogue entry

These rough and fluidly rendered jottings show trees, a shaded figure or statue holding a vertical object, perhaps a spear, and the profile of what appears to be the same palace as shown on Tate D28350; Turner Bequest CCLXXXIX 30a from a distance.
Technical notes:
The leather corners of the binding have caused some discolouration in the corresponding areas of the sheet. There has also been significant offsetting of the pencil lead from the folio opposite (Tate D28350; Turner Bequest CCLXXXIX 30a).
