Catalogue entry

Continued from folio 25 verso (D13498) at the bottom of this page is a sketch of the rocks off the coast of Dunbar. At the top of the page is another sketch taken from a similar position of the Bass Rock with what may be the Isle of May to the right. This composition is framed by a tree in the foreground at the left. A line down the centre of the drawing suggests that Turner may have initially planned to divide the space into two small drawings as on the previous page.
