Catalogue entry

This leaf is detached from the sketchbook and mounted separately.
Comparing this to the oil sketch of Tabley from the same sketchbook (D06848; Turner Bequest CIII 18), Gage considers this likely to have been made ‘away from the motif’, although unlike the Tabley view it has no known basis in on-the-spot drawings. The subject is currently unidentified and the provisional title is Finberg’s.
