Catalogue entry

With the sketchbook turned to the left are four sketches; at the top, an unidentified church with a spire and, to its right, a rough sketch that may represent the tower of another church. Beneath this is a small sketch of the ruins of Penrith Castle (see folio 48 verso; D25617). At the bottom of the page is a sketch of St Andrew’s Church Penrith from the south, with another sketch of the church tower, part of the earlier thirteenth-century church, boxed off above.
