Catalogue entry

There is a similar prospect, partly obscured by trees in the foreground, on folio 39 recto (D09715), under which the subject is discussed. The view is south-west down the Laira (Plym Estuary) towards Plymouth, Mount Batten and the Citadel, with Mount Edgcumbe beyond; Saltram Park is on the slopes to the left. The sketch on folio 41 recto (D09717) is effectively a continuation to the right.
