Catalogue entry

Given the subjects on adjacent pages, Finberg’s identification of the River Tamar is apparently correct, although the lack of obvious landmarks in this sketch, drawn with the page turned horizontally, makes the viewpoint difficult to establish. The subjects running from the front of the sketchbook to here are all identified or presumed sites within a few miles in and around Plymouth, suggesting a series of fairly short excursions.
Verso:
Blank, save for offsetting from John Ruskin’s inscription in blue ink on folio 128 recto opposite (D09359).
