Catalogue entry

The River Yealm runs south-west to Wembury Bay through countryside to the east of Plymouth. With the page turned horizontally, Turner’s specific viewpoint is not yet identified. Finberg identified the sketch on folio 48 recto (D09269) as another Yealm study. The subjects as far as folio 127 recto (D09358) are all identified or presumed sites within a few miles in and around Plymouth, suggesting a series of fairly short excursions.
