The view is downstream in the direction of Isleworth. See also folio 24 of the sketchbook (D05524).
The presence of All Saints’ Church, Isleworth at almost exactly the centre of the sketch, in the middle distance to right of the central arch of Richmond Bridge, was noticed by Hill.
