Catalogue entry

As Turner’s inscription indicates, this is one of three sketches, made with the page turned horizontally, showing the range of mountains to the north of the Pass of Llanberis; the other two are on the verso and folio 23 recto (D02028–D02029), inscribed ‘1’ and ‘2’ respectively. The last is also inscribed ‘Glyder Fawr’, one of three peaks, with Y Garn and Glyder Fach, which crown that section of the Snowdon massif. Other panoramas noted on successive leaves of the book are on the preceding pages, folios 19 verso–20 recto and 20 verso–21 recto (D02023–D02026).
