Bryan Wynter

Bryan WYNTER b. 1915

Landscape painter. Born 8 September 1915 in London. Studied at Westminster School of Art 1937–8 and at the Slade School 1938–40. Settled at Zennor, near St Ives, 1945. At first worked figuratively but by 1956 had evolved a dynamic and more abstract style. First one-man exhibition at the Redfern Gallery 1947. Taught drawing and painting at Bath Academy, Corsham, 1949–56. Exhibited with the London Group from 1954, member 1955–61, and with the Penwith Society, St Ives, 1949–58.
