The Studio Crumb Conversations is the trailblazing Londoner’s newest project as he aims to create a physical manifestation of his eponymous radio show for a crowd to experience.
He will be inviting in a guest of note for each edition and speaking to them about their life, influence and outlook. The conversation will be broken up with music that interweaves with the stories as this Desert Island Discs-inspired evening will also offer the audience a chance to ask any questions they may have.
Iqbal will conclude the evening with a DJ set whilst the crowd are encouraged to dance and relax whilst reflecting on the event’s conversation.
This new residency aims to place focus on intentional engagement and is a truly exciting opportunity to add some context to the culture.
About Haseeb
Haseeb Iqbal has become a key driver in London’s DIY music scene, creating a refreshing space for alternative stories and sounds via his insightful weekly radio show as well as his consistently cutting-edge monthly club nights in Deptford, Studio Crumb, which have been heralded for their strictly vinyl eclectic brilliance.
His unfiltered enthusiasm for music combined with his impressively deep-rooted knowledge of the history that surrounds it has uniquely positioned him as a connector of lost dots, bridging the gap between sounds, cultures and movements.
Iqbal’s first book, Noting Voices: Contemplating London's Culture, was published on Rough Trade Books and spotlighted as one of the most crucial pieces of cultural commentary on space and community in the last decade. He has written for The Guardian, Mixmag, DJ Mag and more. His words, music and thoughts have been profiled by various platforms such as Crack Magazine, The Fader and BBC Radio London and he has also featured in the campaigns of Vogue, Fred Perry and Clark's.
He has been behind the Tate’s weekly Beats and Boards sessions and now, alongside his intensely global DJ schedule, will be placing his energy towards this extremely exciting new adventure. Please join us!
