Audio Arts: Volume 2 No 2 side A - Carl Andre 00:38:3900:00:01 Carl Andre's verbal description of his exhibition at the Lisson Gallery in June 1975. Carl Andre is one of America's leading middle generation sculptors. While in London for his exhibition at the Lisson Gallery in June 1975, he expressed interest in the idea of making a tape about the exhibition in the form of a verbal description. Andre was simultaneously exhibiting ;in The Condition of Sculpture at the Hayward Gallery and at the Museum of Modern Art Oxford, but the Lisson show consisted of poems, pasted to white panels attached to the gallery walls. Throughout the tape the artist moves through the gallery space describing the works, their references and his links as an artist with American culture and its history.00:38:39
