Anne SAÏD b. 1914
Painter and draughtsman. Born 19 August 1914 at Hook, Hampshire. Educated at Queen's College, London, 1925–30. Studied spasmodically with Ozenfant in Paris c. 1938–9 while designing textiles to pay for her art training. Worked in Egypt from 1941 to 1955, and taught there in conjunction with her husband Hamed Saïd, forming a group of students whose work was exhibited in Cairo in 1948 and 1955. First one-man exhibition at the Beaux Arts Gallery 1957.
