Arnold MACHIN b. 1911
Sculptor, mainly in terracotta. Born 30 September 1911 at Trent Vale, Stoke-on-Trent, of a family of potters. First studied at Stoke School of Art and then worked for the Minton China Works. Studied sculpture at Derby Art School on a scholarship from 1934 and at the R.C.A. 1937–40. Associated with Wedgwood's as an adviser from 1940. Exhibited at the R.A. from 1940, A.R.A. 1947, R.A. 1956; A.R.B.S. 1953.
