John A. PARK 1880–1962
Landscape and marine painter, mainly of scenes in Cornwall and Exmoor. Born 9 November 1880 at Preston. Studied in Cornwall under Julius Olsson and in Paris at the Atelier Colarossi. Served in the 1914–18 War. Exhibited at the R.A. from 1905. Hon. member of the Paris Salon 1923, winning a bronze medal 1924. Member of the R.B.A. 1933 and of the R.O.I. 1945–58. Lived most of his life at St Ives, moving 1954 to Brixton, Devon. Died 3 February 1962 in Lancashire.
