Macdonald GILL 1884–1947

Architect, mural painter, designer of decorative maps and posters. Born 6 October 1884 in Brighton, brother of Eric Gill. Started practice as an architect 1903. Studied at Chichester School of Art and the Central School. Worked with Roger Fry on the decorations for the Borough Polytechnic. Carried out decorations at Lincoln Cathedral, the Guildhall, the House of Commons. F.R.I.B.A. 1931. Died in London 14 January 1947.
