Delamotte lived at Oxford from 1798 to 1803, when he moved to Great Marlow, Bucks. to become drawing master at the Royal Military College. A number of oil sketches of the Thames Valley made by him about this time are recorded. Several were in his sale at Sotheby's, 22–23 May 1863, including a ‘Road to Waterperry, Oxon’ (lot 108), which may perhaps be T01050.
