P07613 [from] AUTOGRAPHS 1981 [P07610–P07614; complete]
All inscribed ‘Denny 81’ bottom right and ‘16/35’
Five hand-coloured lithographs with dyed paper, printed at Sky Editions and published by Bernard Jacobson, each 41 3/8× 29 7/8 (105×75.4)
Purchased from Bernard Jacobson (Grant-in-Aid) 1982
Denny worked with dyed paper, making these prints and a series of drawings together entitled ‘Signatures’. For the prints, the blocks of colour that lie behind the configurations were printed first, then further colour was applied with acrylic paint through a stencil, then the paper was dyed and, finally, the line of the configuration was printed.
