A sketch of Lettice, Countess Beauchamp, made in 1904 at Madresfield Court, Malvern, where the artist was staying. Owing to a disagreement between the artist and the sitter the portrait was not seen again until it was sent to the R.A. in 1924. Lady Lettice Mary Elizabeth Grosvenor, daughter of Earl Grosvenor, son of the 1st Duke of Westminster, married the 7th Earl Beauchamp in 1902 and died in 1936.
