This work represents a woman standing on her right leg, the other bent at the knee, with the foot placed against the standing leg. Three long scarves hang from her waist, one of them reaching the ground behind her. The upper half of her body, with both hands extended and head leaning back, is twisted around to her left, so as to almost face behind her. The subject and its treatment partly recall the sinuous style of Art Nouveau around the year 1900, but can also be seen as related to contemporary work by Picasso and certain Surrealist artists, including Masson and Miró.
