Richard Long, Dartmoor Walks 1972
© Richard Long
Display caption
Richard Long rarely made prints; this one was made for sale to Friends of a museum in Mönchengladbach.
The image records all the walks the artist had made on Dartmoor, each of them a ritualised work of art. The image doesn’t show the different nature of these works but simply records their locations: the lines correspond to the location of each walk as seen on a 1 inch : 1 mile Ordnance Survey map.
