One of seven casts from one of the models for a sculpture in bronze, 1945. The same composition was subsequently modelled on a larger scale, 9 1/2 in. high, and nine casts made (one example repr. Read and Sylvester, op. cit., p.151). This was the working model for the life-size sculpture of 1949 (see N06004).
